Certifications

While certificates are not always needed, they can be an effective method to demonstrate your knowledge of a particular field. Your certificates will be determined by the industry in which you wish to operate. Here are two popular certifications for business consultants:

  1. Certified Management Consultant: This certification is offered by the Institute of Management Consultants USA for consultants based in the United States. You must meet all educational criteria, submit a client experience report, complete an interview, and pass a test to gain certification. The IMC USA offers three certifications, based on your degree of experience: basic, experienced, and management.
  2. Certified Business Consultant: The completion of an authorized curriculum is required for the Certified Business Consultant credential. You may expect to learn about essential business processes, ethical considerations, and guidance from some of the best business experts during the program. You will obtain your Certified Business Consultant credential after finishing the course and passing the exam with a score of at least 80%.
